How does the test discover your spirit?

In Umbanda, each person is accompanied by spirit guides and protectors who work by radiating the energy of the Orixás. Each line has its own way of acting: the Caboclo arrives firm and healing; the Preto-Velho, patient and counseling; the Romani spirit, charming and linked to love and prosperity. This quiz crosses your answers with the archetypes that tradition associates with each of these lineages.

The result points to the Umbanda spirit with whom you have the most temperament affinity, and also shows secondary connections, since each medium usually works with spirit guides from different lines throughout their development.

Important: this is educational and self-knowledge content. Your primary spirit guide is revealed within an Umbanda house, during mediumship development and in the game, conducted by the leader. If you feel the calling, seek a trusted terreiro.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know who my spirit guide is? expand_more

This quiz is a playful gateway, based on the archetypes of the Umbanda lines. The spirit that truly walks with you (your primary spirit guide) is revealed within a terreiro, by the house leader, through mediumship development and the game.

Does everyone have a spirit guide in Umbanda? expand_more

In the view of Umbanda, yes: each person is accompanied by spirit guides and spiritual protectors, even those who have never attended a terreiro. They act in our intuition, in daily protection, and in the calls we feel toward spirituality.

What is the difference between a spirit guide, a protector, and an Orixá? expand_more

The Orixá is the divinity that rules your head (the Ori). The spirit guides and protectors are spirits of people who have lived, such as Caboclos, Pretos-Velhos, and Baianos, who work in Umbanda radiating the energy of the Orixás. The Orixá is the greater force; the spirit guide is who approaches to work closely.

Can I have more than one spirit? expand_more

Yes. Each medium usually works with several spirits from different lines throughout their development, in addition to a main primary spirit guide. Therefore, the result also shows which lines you have a secondary connection with.

Is the spirit guide the same thing as a Guardian Angel? expand_more

They are similar ideas from different traditions. The Guardian Angel comes from the Catholic tradition; the spirit guide, from Umbanda. Both represent the protection that walks by our side, but with their own names, histories, and ways of working.
