Take the bath from the neck down, without ingesting. Respect the contraindications of each herb and, in case of doubt, consult your leader or a health professional.
The herbal bath is one of the simplest and most powerful rituals of Afro-Brazilian religions. Each herb carries a vibration and a ruling orixá, and the choice depends on what you need: to open paths, to perform a descarrego, to attract love or prosperity, to protect yourself or to calm the mind.
The general rule is to take the bath from the neck down, after a regular hygiene bath, without rinsing and without ingesting. Cleansing and descarrego baths should not be done in excess; flower and calming baths are lighter. Pay attention to the contraindications of each herb, especially if you have an allergy, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
This guide is educational. For deeper work, with the right herbal bath for your path, it is worth talking to your leader or scheduling a consultation with Joice.

It depends on what you need at the moment: a bath to open paths when something is stuck, a cleansing bath (banho de descarrego) to remove weight, a bath of Oxum for love, a protection bath to close the body. This test crosses your current moment with the most indicated bath and already provides the herbs.
Start with your main need: opening paths, clearing energy, attracting love, calling prosperity, protecting yourself, or calming the mind. Each goal requires different herbs and a ruling orixá. If in doubt, take the test above or speak with a trusted person in the religion.
Cleansing baths and descarrego baths should not be done in excess, as they also affect your energy. The ideal is to use them when you feel the need, or follow the guidance of your leader. Calming and flower baths are lighter and can be more frequent.
Yes, most ritual baths are taken from the neck down, after a normal hygiene bath, without rinsing. The head (the Ori) is usually preserved, except in specific rituals conducted by a priest. Never ingest the bath.
The bath to open paths uses herbs such as guiné, snake plant (espada de São Jorge), and rosemary, linked to Ogum (Ogun), the orixá who opens roads. Boil the herbs, strain, and pour from the neck down asking for the doors to open. The complete recipe is in the article indicated in the result.
