The colônia leaf is the leaf of serenity. With broad leaves and a scented flower, it is one of the most used herbs in peace baths and in Oxalá obligations, in addition to having recognized medicinal use for high blood pressure.
The foundation of this herb in the terreiro, with the orixá (orisha) that rules it and what changes from house to house, is in Our Home: how André Luiz's spiritual colônia works.
💡 "The colônia leaf is so firm that it serves as wrapping and lining in offerings. In terreiros, it sometimes fulfills the function of a plate before fulfilling the function of an herb."
Navigate through the different facets of the plant: from its native biome to the ritual preparation in the garrafada and in the terreiro.

In Afro-Brazilian cosmology, each plant acts as a condenser of the forces of the Orixás. Colônia operates direct transformations in the subtle body:
Vibrational activation under the regency of the Water element, acting on the breaking of blockages and the restoration of essential forces.

The colônia came from Asia and acclimated so well in Brazil that it became a backyard plant across the entire country. Its broad and resistant leaf is used in terreiros to line offerings and for Oxalá baths.
In the traditional garrafadas of Central Brazil, the raizeiro masters recognized in the knotted shape of the root the living metaphor of firmeza: the capacity to tie knots in adversity and remain standing even in arid lands.
The colônia leaf is so firm that it serves as wrapping and lining in offerings. In terreiros, it sometimes fulfills the function of a plate before fulfilling the function of a herb.
