What is the syncretism between Orixás and saints?

In colonial Brazil, enslaved people were forbidden from worshipping the Orixás and forced into Catholicism. Many began to recognize each Orixá in a Catholic saint, and thus Iansã became Saint Barbara and Obaluaê became Saint Lazarus. This meeting is syncretism.

It varies from region to region. Ogum is Saint George in the Southeast and Saint Anthony in Bahia, and the same saint can appear linked to different Orixás. That is why the game warns the region when it changes the answer.
