Via-Sacra

Via Crucis

Follows Jesus from condemnation to the tomb in 14 stations. It is prayed especially on Fridays of Lent, in church or at home.

In the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Initial prayer

My Lord and my God, under the loving gaze of our Mother, we prepare ourselves to accompany you along the path of pain that was the price of our redemption. We want to suffer all that you suffered, to offer you our poor, contrite heart, because you are innocent and will suffer for us, who are the only ones at fault.

My Mother, Sorrowful Virgin, help me to relive those bitter hours that your Son wished to spend on earth, so that we, made of a handful of mud, might finally live in the freedom and glory of the children of God.

At each station

The station is announced and it is said:

V. We adore you, O Jesus, and we bless you.

R. Because by your holy cross you redeemed the world.

Read and meditate on the station. Then pray an Our Father, an Hail Mary and a Glory Be, and say:

V. Lord, have mercy on us.

R. Have mercy on us.
