Antiphon. Your kingdom is an eternal kingdom, and all kings shall serve you and obey you. (At Easter time: Alleluia.)
- Why do the nations rage in tumult and the peoples plot vain designs?
- The kings of the earth rise up in revolt and the princes conspire together against the Lord and against his Anointed:
- “Let us break their chains and cast off their yoke.”
- He who dwells in the heavens laughs, the Lord mocks them.
- Then he speaks to them with wrath and with his anger he terrifies them:
- “I have anointed my King over Zion, my holy mountain.”
- I will proclaim the decree of the Lord. He said to me: “You are my Son, today I have begotten you.
- Ask me and I will give you the nations as an inheritance and the ends of the earth for your dominion.
- You shall rule them with a rod of iron, breaking them like pottery.”
- And now, O kings, take heed; attend, you who judge the land.
- Serve the Lord with fear, acclaim him with respect.
- Revere him so that he does not become angry and leave you lost, for in a moment his wrath is ignited. Blessed are all who trust in the Lord.
Glory to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and forever. Amen.

V. Hear, O Lord, my prayer.
R. And let my cry reach you.
Let us pray. O Almighty and eternal God, who wished to restore all of creation in the person of your beloved Son, Lord of the universe, grant us, by your mercy, that all nations, divided by the wound of sin, submit to the gentle empire of Christ, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
