Lord, I believe in you, but make me believe with more firmeza; I hope in you, but make me hope with more confidence; I love you, but increase my love; I repent, but revive my pain.
I adore you as the first principle, I desire you as the ultimate end, I exalt you as perpetual benefactor, I invoke you as propitious defender.
Guide me with your wisdom, bind me with your justice, comfort me with your clemency, protect me with your power.
I offer you my thoughts, so that they may be directed to you; my words, so that they may speak of you; my works, so that they may be yours; my adversities, so that I may accept them for you.
I want what you want, I want because you want, I want as you want, I want as long as you want.
Lord, I ask you to illuminate my mind, inflame my will, cleanse my heart, sanctify my soul.
Keep me away from past faults, reject future temptations, correct bad inclinations, practice the necessary virtues.
Grant me, God of goodness, love for you, zeal for my neighbor, contempt for the mundane.
May I know how to obey superiors, help inferiors, welcome friends, forgive enemies.
May I overcome sensuality with mortification, greed with generosity, anger with kindness, lukewarmness with piety.
Make me prudent in counsel, constant in danger, patient in adversity, humble in prosperity.
May I seek inner innocence, outward modesty, exemplary conversation, and an ordered life.
May I strive to master my nature, foster grace, serve your law, and obtain salvation.
May I learn from you how small the earth is, how great the divine is, how brief time is, and how enduring the eternal is.
Make me prepare for death, fear judgment, avoid hell, and reach paradise. Through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
