Farewell to the Altar (Syro-Maronite tradition)

It comes from the Maronite liturgy of Lebanon and is in the appendix of the Compendium of the Catechism. It is the farewell to the altar upon leaving the church, without knowing if there will be another mass.

Remain in peace, O altar of God. May the oblation that I received from you serve me for the remission of offenses and the forgiveness of sins, and may it grant me the grace to appear before the tribunal of Christ without condemnation and without confusion.

I do not know if I will be granted to return and offer upon you another sacrifice. Protect me, Lord, and preserve your Church as a path of truth and salvation. Amen.
