Question 1 of 5 Let's begin

When life gets tough, you...

Who are the malandros of Umbanda

The malandros form a line of spirits that brings the figure of the urban malandro from the beginning of the 20th century. Umbanda began to worship them between the 1930s and 1960s, and Zé Pelintra is the most well-known name of the falange, which also has malandras, such as Maria Navalha and Maria do Cais.

Malandragem, in this case, does not mean crime. It is agility, cleverness, and survival with dignity, the heritage of those who lived on the margins. The greeting is "Salve a malandragem!", and the most registered colors are white and red. The test shows which work of the line matches your current moment.

Frequently asked questions

No. Zé Pelintra works in the line of malandragem, near the left, but he is neither Exu nor Pombagira. There are houses that worship the malandros along with the exus, and your house defines that.
