Let us celebrate the mystery of the divine Eucharist, the Body and Blood of Jesus, the mystery of the living God, as real on your altar as it once was upon the cross.
Coming to the land that called him, Christ was the salvation and the joy of his people, he was prophet, he was word, and a word that, preached, made the world a new world.
It was on the final night that, at the supper with the twelve, heart to heart, he gave himself entirely and forever, hands in blessing over the table, of the first communion.
Thus God, who became man, did everything in fullness, in humility and in poverty, and the miracle continues. Where the senses fail, comes the hope of those who pray.
We shall venerate, we shall adore the presence of the Lord, our light and bread of life. Let the soul sing its praise. Let us adore in the tabernacle God hidden by love.
Let us give glory to the Father of heaven, infinite majesty; glory to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, in spirit and in truth. We shall venerate, we shall adore the Most Holy Trinity. Amen.
V. You are the bread that came down from heaven. (In the Easter season: Alleluia.)
R. To give life to the world. (In the Easter season: Alleluia.)
Let us pray. Lord Jesus Christ, who in this admirable sacrament left us the memorial of your passion, grant us the grace to venerate in such a way the mysteries of your Body and Blood that we may continually feel the fruits of your redemption. You who are God with the Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
